Review of Palindromes (2005) by Kristian W — 03 Jun 2007
Yes this is a relatively disturbing film. I can understand some unexperienced viewers problems with it. Although the acting was questionable it nonetheless drives home the fact that we are who we are no matter how much we attempt to change - in essence we are Palindromes.
Mark is now my among my favorite characters of all time. Although level headed, he shared the intellectual burden of, well, intellectualism. A very powerful film about redemption, religion, and something I've never seen in a film before.
.. quality of life. I especially found Mama Sunshines very nonplused attempt at reforming an adopted gay son comical - would these be in fact the very children that would have been aborted? It isn't a surprise to see that many people who suffer a disability very often come from Christian homes - which raises another question about ethics.
