Review of Palindromes (2005) by Josh S — 21 Feb 2008
Wow. It wasn't as wrong as Happiness was, but definitely worse than Storytelling or Welcome to the Dollhouse (speaking of which, opening it on the funeral of Dawn Weiner REALLY set the depressing tone, at least for a fan of that film.).
I don't really know what to say about this film, but it was brilliant, and a LOT of people probably think it's the worst thing ever. For instance, look at the guy 3 reviews below me! He obviously doesn't get that even though this film may indeed be horrible, despicable, and offensive, there is an absolute reason for that, the reason being that whether you like it or not, art will NEVER cease to imitate life, no matter how upsetting it may be. Some of us just happen to appreciate this disturbed madness.
