Review of Palindromes (2005) by Stephanie G — 04 May 2009
A lot of people will miss the point(s) of this movie; there are a lot of things presented in it, some of which still are incomprehensible to me. The main character is portrayed by a handful of different actresses, which is something I've never seen before, but which is an interesting device.
At its core, Aviva's dream is to be a mother and have babies; unfortunately, the world in which she lives will not permit this dream to happen. People get hung up on underage sex in Solondz movies, but wtf? Solondz is probably the only director I have seen which makes child characters three dimensional.
