Review of Palindromes (2005) by Nick T — 22 Jul 2011
Very dark and deeply disturbing story that follows the character of a young girl, played by numerous actors. The film is easy to follow despite the acting changes, but the subject matter of teen pregnancy, child sex abuse and murder is challenging to say the least.
Director Todd Solondz tackles these topics with a nonchalance that unsettles you as a viewer. That's not to say he's glib, however you need to approach this film with a sharp, unbiased mind. The links with his other films are fun to watch.
Solondz delivers with his trademark quirkiness.
