Review of Palindromes (2005) by God? — 08 Apr 2006
Not Solondz's best, by any standards. But so weird that it will captivate you. The arthouse choice that Solondz has gone with (being the different actresses playing the same girl) is, at first, very disorienting, but it ends up at an almost laugh-out-loud finale, and even reveals to us emotions not even The Woodsman could tell regarding the foreman of the subject matter.
Enjoyable, but in some places, horribly flawed (the children you cannot expect the best of, but to be fair, the majority of the child actors used here plainly suck ass). The subject matter is, however, very controversial, and I will relay that Solondz has a way of offending people.
Happiness remains his best.
