Review of Palindromes (2005) by Deadly V — 04 May 2008
WOW! I picked this up only because it had a warning (oh yeah blockbuster here seems to be getting a little more conservative and adding warnings about exactly everything) that it contained pedophilia and abortion, and also because it's the same director of "welcome to the dollhouse".
...but I definately wasn't ready for this. Since the night before I had watched Poison (1991) I was really thrown off with the fact that the main character in this film is played by about 6 different actors, ranging from a skinny little ginger girl to an obese black woman.
It has the same awkward adolescent attitudes in it, and definately the dark humour of adolescent sex, but the rest of the story is a very intense look into the sides of abortion. Neither side is taken, which makes this film all the better.
Beautifully uncomfortable...highly recommend to see this one!
