Review of Pale Flower (1964) by Stuart K — 29 Jun 2009
I'm thinking this didn't play at the Avalon in P'ville when we were in high school. Very dark footage to go with a cheery story about an assassin in the yakuza. The yubitsume isn't shown.
My experience with joint deterioration suggests this is a great way to reduce hand strength, though I seldom need to wield a sword. The movie was banned in 1964 due to the gambling scenes. Oh, it is also a love story.
