Review of Paisa (2013) by Fernando C — 03 Mar 2008
These six vignettes each have a special resonance, and might be the best according to each viewer. They're all the same in quality, but that's not to say it's an excellent film. Now, i'm no Rossellini expert, but I bet "Open City" is far better than this amateurish, cold exercise, which lacks poetry and doesn't flow easily, although it's touching and unique the whole time.
This feeling of news cast from all over Italy, like a recollection of stories from around the country during the time is exciting and very special, but failed to make it a great movie in my opinion.
