Review of Paint Your Wagon (1969) by Paavo I — 15 Jul 2009
Many critics, reviewers and movie fans have an opinion of this film, but I suspect few of them have actually seen it. They base their views on other negative reviews without bothering to actually watch the movie themselves.
This musical-comedy-western is one of the best and it's kind of like a forgotten treasure for those of us who have seen and appreciate it. Clint Eastwood's and Lee Marvin's singing is actually pretty good and they are surrounded by many members of the original stage production.
Harve Presnell steals the movie with his rendition of "The Call the Wind Maria.".
