Review of Paint Your Wagon (1969) by Brett B — 16 Jan 2012
I like the idea of this movie on paper (a western musical with no less than Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin in starring roles), but the final film itself is a total mess. There are good things in it (the location shooting is terrific, for example), but the inescapable fact is that neither Eastwood nor Marvin really have any business headlining a musical, and their performances come across as extremely awkward, which is enough to sink the film.
