It feels like there is a good movie in here struggling to get out (maybe one about shallow, superficial goals and the emptiness of material pursuits) but clearly Michael Bay isn't the director to find it.
That being said can I just put in a plug for someone to take Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson under their wing. He has one of the most expressive faces in film I have seen, and I feel he just needs the right casting and direction to do something really remarkable.
