Review of Pain & Gain (2013) by Aaron M — 12 May 2014
Pain & Gain consisted of some really unusual turn of events for a crime caper, which was often very violent. I feel Michael Bay did as good as he possibly good to bring this loosely based true story to the movie screen, as events were so random and strange that it was difficult to make a story out of.
The failure to execute a plan was often the joke and in parts was genuinely funny without trying too hard but these moments were rare as is was suffocated by pointless actions. It was a very stylised and lively 2 hours but it was all too irregular to be really savoured, maybe this movies main flaw was that this true story just doesn't suit a movie feature.
