Review of Page One: Inside the New York Times (2011) by Kent P — 06 Jul 2011
A fascinating look into an old institution during a critical time. Despite the film's somewhat unapologetic view of the Gray Lady, and despite serving as a disciple, spreading the good word of traditional newspaper journalism-- the individuals being followed are real, honest, and incredibly blunt.
The film could've been longer, more in-depth and probably even more focused. But nevertheless, it is thoroughly entertaining, insightful, and also asks several important questions that has an impact on our daily life. Most importantly; is traditional investigative journalism (read: newspapers) such an integral part of who we are that if we lose it, the powers that may be can roam free not worrying about accountability?
