Review of Paddington (2014) by Sanchayan S — 30 Apr 2015
Beautifully made and wonderfully written movie :- "Paddington" brings warmth that movie goers can embrace. The story-line is very simple as often the children movies go and although a similar type of film "Ted" was made this one is different.
It has the strong british feel to it and as the plot unveils one can understand how nicely is the story told and one gets the feel that this is an allegorical narrative reminding us a bit of "A Little Princess" and walks on a similar.
Another thing that bolstered the movie is the way it is shot and it pulls off the classic stereotypical cliches in a endearing silly manner ; something that actually goes for the heart rather than being overly complicated.
The simple moments often get the response of the audience and in the simplicity lies the magic. Throughout the narration there is a sense of hitting the moments mostly. As for the negatives there are few and far between .
There is enough comedy , action and emotion ,that is nicely paced and devoid of cheap gags, to make it a nice family movie that will keep both children and adults interested.
