Paddington is as cuddly, charming and imaginative as I remember. In fact, watching the film evoked memories long thought passed; of reading the books and wearing his coat. So well executed is this film, so utterly delightful that the magic of the original stories stays right in tact.

Paddington, voiced so beautifully by Ben Wishaw, is such an engaging and funny character that this antics are able to carry this film with ease. However, the human stars, especially Kidman and Capaldi are also excellent.

The screenplay is British perfection and the wondrous world created at the film's start grabs your attention effortlessly. In fact, the whole film does this. I absolutely adore this film, much like the title character.

Interestingly, there aren't many, if any, criticisms I can find. Perhaps that film has no direct focus other than to introduce the bear and there are no complexities to be found in the plot.

Other actors including Sally Hawkins and Hugh Bonneville are brilliant as the Browns and Julie Walters is as good as she's ever been. Every actor brings a sense of belief and wonder and delight to their roles. It's quite reflective of the type of film this aims to be, and is.

What Paddington is, is a deliciously adorable, meticulously crafted and.

Wonderfully imaginative film that both delights, saddens and above all entertains. But the best part of Paddington? The self aware cynicism of its marmalade addiction.
