Review of Paddington (2014) by Nikola B — 16 Aug 2015
Crying out of joy because of a film is a rarity.
Paddington possesses an adventurous and whimsical nature with which it enchants the viewer. It is a family film that will make the adults feel again like children because of the mixture of innocent and dubious humor.
One of the reasons as to why the film is so well received is because of the way it respects the intelligence of its audience. Those that are not familiar with Michael Bond's books will be granted the blessing of childish curiosity and amazement, and those that hold a firm nostalgic grip of the source material will be utmost pleased of how well the story is presented.
One of the great forces of the film is the comedy. It is quite colorful and at times challenging to fully appreciate but collaborates perfectly with the pacing and feel.
Paddington embodies the beauty of innocents, the holiday spirit, and how a bear can display good manners and humanity to the humans that surround him.
