Review of Paddington (2014) by Andrew P — 20 Dec 2015
Probably the most enjoyable G rated movie.
The only real critique is that it was sometimes too childish. Most of the gags were things like watching the bear get tangled up in sticky tape or misusing a toothbrush as an ear cleaner. Perfectly funny to a kid, but too simple for adults.
For what it was though, it was oddly enjoyable. There was enough of a character arch in the family for you to actually care to see how it ended. And the villain (a taxidermist who wanted to stuff Paddington) was actually kinda evil, which made it all the more interesting. It's short and sweet (90 mins). Overall, I recommend it as a the perfect family movie. One that will keep kids throughly entertained and hold parents interest all the way through.
