Delightfully British Bear.
Paddington is a charming and creative adaption of the character who has been reinvigorated in a delightfully crafted, but predictable film.
Paddington has a lot going for it. It has a wonderful cast and is very well acted for the most part, especially since the film is centered around a computer generated animal. It is also very well filmed, with stylistic cinematography and sleek direction by Paul King. It is also very imaginative visually, with creative imagery throughout the film.
On the negative side is the very by the numbers and predictable story. But for a family film it is passible due to the humor which never fails to put a smile on your face.
Overall Paddington knows what it is and what it wants to be. And it succeeds in that, serving delightful characters, imaginative storytelling and visual wonder even though it is very predictable.
