Review of Paddington (2014) by Jacob B — 16 Dec 2016
Paddington is a surprisingly entertaining 21st century update of a classic character that ought to be fun for the whole family. The CGI bear is rendered perfectly that ought to make even older viewers want to cuddle him, Ben Whishaw provides a great vocal performance in the role of the title character and the film is also as charming as the original source material that delighted children.
The film also successfully manages to be funny thanks to not only the rather hilarious antics of Paddington but also because of the Peter Capaldi's performance as Mr. Curry who serves as a funny nosy neighbour particularly by informing his neighbors about a certain plot point with a funny voice and wishing to remain anonymous.
On a final note, Nicole Kidman serves as an entertaining villain which will make kids ought to be all like "Yay! She's been defeated!" in the end. Fun for the whole family.
