As charming and funny as the first outing, and offering a wonderful showcase of comic acting from the likes of Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Tom Conti and (best of all) Hugh Grant as a vain-glorious failed thesp - with whom the blithe bear does battle.
Director and co-writer Paul King keeps it rattling along and is hugely assisted by Dario Marianelli's lovely score and a superlative CGI Paddington, voiced again by the perfect Ben Whishaw.
