Review of Paddington 2 (2017) by Matt C — 19 Feb 2018
I had reservations about the first film (CGI Bear, wacky trailer etc) but that film was one the of the best family movies I'd seen in a long time. I had further reservations about this film because the first one was so good you start in a way to feel ownership and don't want to be disappointed.
Well fear not, I will be amazed if this is not in the running for my favourite film of the year, and we're in February. It is an absolute delight. It's funny, it's moving...I mean apart from 'It's A Wonderful Life' I can't remember a film moving me to tears so often and so soon in the movie.
It is, just like the first film, a perfect family movie. Everyone involved looks so bloody pleased to be doing it, not just phoning in a performance for a kids film. GO AND SEE THIS FILM NOW. I'm off to start stressing about the third installment and to hug my family.
