Being a parent you begin to appreciate well-made children's films such as this one. I've heard this described as "The Godfather II of family movies" and while that made me laugh it's not far from the truth.
It outshines the first one by bringing in more lovable characters, a less predictable plot, and a hilariously happy ending. A pleasent surprise in the world of sequels.
