Review of Paddington 2 (2017) by Jacob B — 30 Aug 2018
Most modern kids' movies tend to have pop culture references and lame puns for the older crowd with obnoxious noise and toilet humour for kids. Like its predecessor, Paddington 2 is none of those things.
It's a kids' movie without talking down. As Walt Disney once said "You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up anyway" This movie is just as good as its predecessor, if not better.
Just look at that Tomatometer. This movie's incredibly heartwarming tone, adorable protagonist and pleasing visuals are what gives this movie an all-ages appeal unlike that ununhip Peter Rabbit movie.
The movie is full of laughs that aren't the radar-dodging variety but rather the type meant to cater to everyone. And that it does. Thanks to its all-ages appeal, Paddington 2 just may be in my Top 10 favourite movie sequels.
