Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by Hardy C — 30 Mar 2018
Disappointing. As imaginative as the original was, this sequel just hewed to standard sci fi action tropes, amounting to little more than Star Wars meets Transformers. As annoying as Charlie Day was in the first one, I actually wanted to see more of him in the second.
The standard monsters versus 'bots scenes reminded me of the old timey Japanese creature features, and that;s not necessarily a compliment. Give us something fresh next time, not a retread.
