Rather poor sequel for a good action movie.

First 2/3 of the movie are pretty much empty. There is no story, no development, nothing worth mentioning. Just pile of assorted, mostly pointless and irrelevant, sequences. Most memorable part of over half the movie is a lot of push in terms of PC garbage. All the basics got covered, from feminism to inclusiveness. Unfortunately at the cost of anything resembling good writing/directing.

Last third of the movie was only thing that even remotely keeps this movie afloat. Despite many completely out of place juvenile cheesy puns, amount of action was good in the end. Numerous absurd scenes, like Jaeger crew not suffocating on high altitudes without any breathing equipment, or not being cooked alive when Gypsy rapidly descends afterwards, as by that time driver area lacks any shielding and is full of holes that several humans could pass thru freely. Those are not really helping.

Long story short, only last third of the movie is worth being called even remotely good. There was only one plot twist that was surprising, rest was lazy and predictable. Rest of the movie is lingering between "meh" and "total garbage". If whole movie was non-stop action, it could be good in its own way. If movie had good balance between story and action, it could be a good movie. This was not a good movie. No plot, no story, no pacing, no logic, no point. Its a franchise killer.
