Review of Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) by Koperfit — 25 Mar 2018
Well made sequel to an innovative first movie. Yeah, of course it is not a perfect movie. But it does understand that it is not a "film" but a "movie" and doesn't take itself seriously for that matter. CGI is good. Music not as much as the first movie. The plot is better than movies of the genre have, the twist was good and didn't expect it. The fights were more than good, like, really. The only real downside is that the new kids didn't have much time to shine, and their stories felt rushed af. Also for those who say that it isn't directed by Del Toro. He procuded the movie, and wrote the script. So I don't really get your points there. Plus for those seeking realism, you don't go see a Giant Robots vs Giant Aliens movie...
The movie is a pure 7/10. But to counter the unjustifiably bad reviews some gave it, i'm giving a 9. Have a good day.
