DeKnight shows he can pilot a CGI fight sequence as well as his predecessor, Guillermo Del Toro (“The Shape of Water”). These movies can be fun once the colossal foes start grappling. They’re even more fun with fewer explanations and more explosions.
A movie about massive monster-fighting robots doesn’t need so much engineering.
