It's interesting to see that it makes a great movie ,by the fact that they practically ignored the principal character of the first movie,I lloved pacific rim 1 and I loved pacific rim 2,I think that the critics are having high expectation and that they only fall for historic movies like Dunkirk and all Theban marvel movies,it makes me angry to see that original ideas without a past(marvel has comics ,Dunkirk happened in real life)just because they didint feel that it was great enough for they're knowledge but the fact is,they've got none,I don't even bother checking critics rating because they suck at making a point ,I wanna see people with no expectations writhing they're opinions and saying the bad parts and the goods,because I don't see why they should still get to influence the tomato meter,.
