Review of Pacific Rim (2013) by Haskelsebert — 14 Jul 2013

Start with an unoriginal science fiction monster movie script-and then ingraft numerous moments of creativity well acted and shot and this is Pacific Rim. Giant amphibian monsters enter our world from a portal in the pacific ocean attacking coastal cities and threatening the entire planet.

Earth unites and builds giant robots each operated by two human pilots. Especially brilliant are the scenes showing character Mako Mori's past. The pacing is thrilling. the characters are interesting, and there are several humorous moments.

At the end battle scenes there were times when it was difficult to hear what the characters were yelling because of the score and special effects which were too loud. Otherwise all is well done. If you like this kind of film ---this is a film you are going to like.

I was entertained throughout and awestruck at the best scenes.
