Review of Pacific Rim (2013) by Musicxxaddicted — 31 Jul 2013

First off, great concept: giant machines fighting aliens. Then the movie started, this overly dramatic and long, nagging story-telling that is typical for American Hollywood movies was something that I certainly didn't expect from Guillermo del Toro.

Even the jokes in-battle were abundant and broke the tension that actually made me want to see more of this film. The acting is stiffer than Expandables and in the end I thought Guillermo was pulling a leg at everyone, pointing out how cliche and staged action movies are these days.

When I walked out the cinema I wondered whether I watched WWE or just the South Park episode...
