Review of Pacific Rim (2013) by Roy M — 30 Jul 2014

Technically the film is well made and the effects are good - but story-wise, not so hot: the characters are two dimensional and unengaging, the tech just never came across as believable and the monsters were too derivative of "Starship Troopers" and of course "Godzilla"; thus the combination of people for whom it was impossible to care fighting monsters I didn't believe in suits that never seemed reasonable even in this fantasy world just didn"t justify the time spent watching.
