Guillermo, as always, showcases that he is a visionary when it comes to grandiose visuals -- and this is perhaps his best work, in that respect, to date. But the script, which I prefer to believe was penned mostly by Travis Beachem (author of the equally putrid Clash of the Titans remake's script), is unforgivably awful.

While Guillermo continues to craft amazing worlds which stun and entertain, Beachem is well on his way to reaching the Lindelof level of incompetence.
