Review of Oz the Great and Powerful (2013) by Kurt F — 15 Jan 2014
1/13/14 I'm really not sure what to say about this film. At some points, it seems like it is a children's film (cheesy little dances and things like this), but at other times it is way too scary and mature for a child.
It was fun in the beginning to re-explore the land of Oz... it reminded me of childhood (even though I never watched the Oz movie then. Everyone seems to be exposed to the story somehow). James Franco is way too cheesy and over the top as the wizard.
Visuals are very cool and I always love the little cameos with Bruce Campbell. Overall, it is just too inconsistent to be a really good film.
