Review of Oz the Great and Powerful (2013) by Ailin V — 16 Feb 2014

Figured this would be the equivalent to Tim Burtons stupid version of Alice in Wonderland..but I was wrong..this is much better than that film.....alot of things are done right here..starting with Elfmans great score at the beginning at the opening credits..the first few scenes which are done in black and white..giving us that classic Hollywood feel.....the Emerald City itself is done very well..with fun characters and terrific animation.....however this is nowhere near as good as the original Wizard of Oz as expected....Franco just wasnt made for a role like this.....also the choice of the actress who plays the Wicked Witch...what were they thinking??? yea she was bad.....however one of the best things about this film is Michelle Williams as Glenda...she was terrific.....anyways theres alot to like here and it was a great experience in 3D.
