Review of Overnight Delivery (1998) by Jake D — 29 Apr 2011
A pretty descent rom com that is charming, and fun in the right spots. It has some problems as far as the plot goes. Paul Rudd basically is trying to stop a nasty letter he wrote from being delivered to his girlfriend who he found out was cheating on him. With the help of Reese Witherspoon he embarks on a quest to stop the letter.
A film that has much predictable as a chicken layingeggs it still manages to be a descent kick back film to just sit and let your brain melt.
The saving grace for this film for me is Paul Rudd anything he does I find myself one over by his charm. However I'm not a huge fan of Witherspoon, but hers and Rudds chemistry was quite good, and really helps steer this film in a good direction. With a bunch a of wacky shenanigans taking place this film becomes a descent joyride. It isn't for everyone, but I must admit that it did provide some charm, and is definitely better than most romantic comedies from now a days.
