The rise and (and mostly) the fall of Troy Duffy, a bartender who struck a movie deal with Miramax head honcho Harvey Weinstein. A bit like watching a car crash happening with egoistical Duffy showing off and failing miserably.
Friends set out to make a "rags-to-riches" documentary but ended up with a study of how in the end we usually get what we deserve.
