Review of Overheard (2009) by Antony W — 19 Aug 2009
It was good until the ending. Which is very typical of a Hong Kong film to not know when to end. It just didn't end and then when it did, I couldn't stop laughing because it was so ridiculously cheesy.
I mean what the hell was the point of adding a cartoon scream and Louis Koo's robotic hand and maniacal smile? But the prior to that it was fairly good. Lau Ching Wan gives a solid performance as always.
Louis Koo was pretty good, too. I still don't understand why Daniel Wu's character did what he did as he had no purpose in it but oh well. Hong Kong film directors should learn when to end a film so it's not ruined.
