This movie takes itself too seriously. It has a terrible performance from a child actor who plays a character that's written to be hated. Some of the soundtrack ("Winner Takes It All") are great 80s songs, but a lot of it is (bizarrely) super patriotic, Lee Greenwood-level cheese.
Also, nobody seems to know whether the main character's name is Hawk or Hawkes, for some reason. (Probably massive re-shoots.).
