Review of Outsourced (2007) by Josh R — 12 Jun 2009
There is not a lot WRONG with this movie and a few things are RIGHT, but at the end you will feel that you have wasted a perfectly good 2 hour slilce of your life. The movie is cinematically pleasing and gives a refreshing view of life in India, but the plot is so, so, so tired and predictable. The plot twist at the end is astonishing only for its irrelevance and unbelievability. The chemistry between Hamilton and Darkher is non-existent although you have this horrible premonition from the moment director John Jeffcoat introduces them that he is hell-bent on having them fall in love.
The dialog is sophomoric and the plot is weak (more a series of travelog vignettes than a coherent story), and for some reason the writers have thrown a Kama Sutra scene into the otherwise Disney-esque story line (think Daffy Duck doing a cameo in Shindler's List).
Two questions - why did they make this movie and why did I watch it to the end?
