Review of Outpost (2008) by Bill B — 24 Oct 2009
I gave this another look this evening after picking it up cheap, and it still holds up very well.
A nicely paced horror film, slowly builds the creep factor as a group of mercenaries enter an old Nazi bunker and run afoul of an abandoned science project from WWII.
This works well because you never really see a whole lot of the Nazis, they're mostly in shadow and more intimidating because all you really see is the helmet and the slightly distorted features, it's spooky stuff.
While this doesn't show you anything Earth-shatteringly new, it hits all the right notes in the lean 90-something minute running time.
Recommended.
