Review of Outpost (2008) by Jason J — 27 Jun 2010
A nice effective chiller about a group of mercernaries who are sent to Eastern Europe to an old German WWII bunker to recover a machine the Nazis were working on. But unbeknownst to them, the Nazis were also conducting experiments on creating the ultimate soldier - one that could come back to life after being mortally wounded. The mission quickly becomes a nightmare as the Nazi zombiefied soldiers surround the bunker and start picking off the mercenaries one by one. Can they escape with their lives from the bunker?
It's true that you'll be able to find a better movie with Nazi zombie soldiers....Dead Snow comes to mind but this low budget movie will entertain most viewers - it's got a creepy and claustrophobic atmosphere, some horror and action with plenty of suspense and a smart script. The cast is pretty good too. It reminds me a little bit of the Castle Wolfenstein game I used to play years ago. Outpost had me on the edge of my seat as the situation becomes tense for the mercenaries. Definitely recommended.
