Review of Outlaw King (2018) by Kurt M — 14 Dec 2018

I love watching historical dramas and this one has everything I love in a movie. The movie has managed to create the atmosphere and shape the historical setting in which the story takes place, but unfortunately this wasn't ever really enough to make you root with the main protagonist.

Chris Pine was really good as the protagonist, but the script wasn't powerful enough to deliver the greatness of Robert Bruce's achievements and turmoil. "Outlaw King" is an interesting period drama, a very promising film, with a great central plot but it unfortunately lost focus of what the story really was about.
