Review of Outlander (2008) by Dave D — 23 Aug 2009
If you ask me is this a good film? I would say probably not! However if you asked me, is this a fun film? Absolutely! From the space craft crash to the finale this is a incredibly detailed film. Great and realistic fight sequences as well as what on the surface appears to be an accurate portrayal of Norwegian life in 700AD.
The only two let down are; firstly that the Norwegians all suffer from Sean Connery-itis and have Scottish accents. Secondly the Moorwen looks a little naff, as CGI monsters sometimes suffer in lower budget films.
On the upside Ron Perlman's cameo is cool and the monster is kept, for the majority in the dark.
