This movie is a western in space. One of the very few of this mixture genres (the other being Serenity), it is an excellent blend of action and suspense.
Sean Connery plays O'Niel, a newly appointed marshall on the third moon of Jupiter, a remote space mining town. His wife leaves him because she wants their son to grow up on Earth, and he discovers a sinister conspiracy within the colony.
The only reason I watched this movie was for the concept and star power. It was described as a "High Noon" in space. Add Sean Connery, and its worth seeing. The ending battle where O'Niel goes up against two tough mercenaries is dripping with suspense and gore.
A highly entertaining film with solid direction by Peter Hyams. He also did The Relic, another underrated action adventure film.
