Review of Outland (1981) by Ajk D — 18 Oct 2012
"Outland" looks like "Alien," feels like "High Noon" and has Sean Connery in yet another one of his fine, forgotten roles from the 80s. What separates "Outland" from the rest of the crowd is that it deviates from the standard plot and character conventions that tend to bog down other sci-fi action flicks, and it's a lot slower and has a lower body count than you'd expect.
These aspects make it slightly more interesting than most, yet it still isn't as striking as it might have been under better direction. "Outland" is a respectable entry in the sci-fi genre, but it's nothing incredibly special.
