Review of Outbreak (1995) by Henry I — 05 May 2009
Outbreak is a C-level story, in B-movie format, with an A-level budget and an A+ cast.
The concept behind the story is terrifying, and the question of what would you or, more worrisome, the US government do if there was a town full of people with an incurable disease that could wipe out the entire country in 48-hours is enough to make Socrates say "Next question." But this script needed to make several leaps of faith and depended heavily on the audience's willful suspension of disbelief in order to get through the story. Had any of the principals been less talented things would have come apart very quickly.
