Review of Outbreak (1995) by Adrian Z — 10 Nov 2013
A deadly virus hits the US and army doctor Hoffmann must fight a pretty much evil general (Sutherland) in order to save a small town from bombing while trying to find the cure. What should have been a harrowing medical thriller, in the hands of director Peterson, comes off as spirited adventure, which is a little odd to say the least.
Furthermore, Hoffmann's manic performance is often humourous, while around him strangers and close friends alike are dying horribly. That said, Outbreak does still turn out to be an entertaining movie, if only because it maintains an exciting pace throughout.
