Review of Outbreak (1995) by Nicole S — 11 Sep 2011
"The single biggest threat to man's continued dominance on this planet is the virus.".

A pulse-shattering thriller that is guarantees to abolish your senses, a wickedy contagious film that frightens, disturbs and ultimately, entertains with ease. Director Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot, Air Force One, A Perfect Storm, Troy) is back in the Directors chair with this highly realistic and action-packed endeaver that left me breathless. Buckle up and get ready for the ride of your life, Outbreak is one scene after the other of heart-racing suspense, mind-blowing realism and unbelieveably frightening and powerful suspense that just keeps you watching for the entire duration. I warn you, this one will turn you into a germaphobe seemingly overnight, it's a bit similar to The Andromeda Strain and has the same techological aspects as well. Nerve-shredding entertainment that thrills and chills the entire time, highly recommended.
The cast is brilliant, and the film is packed with great and convincing acting. Dustin Hoffman gives a commanding performance. Morgan Freeman is spectacular as always. Rene Russo is excellent and Cuba Gooding Jr. hands down a good performance too.
