Quite likely, the best film noir I have ever watched and probably among the best movies of the 40s, this brilliant Tourneur classic includes a great Mitchum and then Greer and Douglas in a fatal circle of a hero that is chased by his own past.
Indeed, the atmosphere is almost unbeatable and I can't find a way to get a better film noir of my own memory.
