Like a leaf that blows from one gutter to the next... The greatest Noir film ever made! Robert Mitchum is perfect as the emotionally wounded private eye who falls for gangster Kirk Douglas' woman, Jane Greer.
About a hundred double crosses later - and some of the best dialogue ever - lots of people are dead and the future doesn't look good for Mitchum. Tough... but emotional.
